Power of the Purse Luncheon

The Power of the Purse Luncheon is an annual event held each May for members and guest who are committed to becoming effective philanthropists through the power of giving.  The event is open to the public and all proceeds go towards grants awarded annually by the Women for Women Endowment Fund.

Women for Women is excited to announce Sarah Ferguson, Duchess of York as the 2010 Power of the Purse Luncheon Speaker.

Sarah Ferguson was first introduced to the world when her engagement to Britain's Prince Andrew was announced in 1986.  Ten years later when her marriage ended,  Sarah showed her comeback spirit. by overcoming formidable obstacles such as divorce, near-bankruptcy, hostile press, and more to succeed as a single working mother and career woman.  You may remember her as the spokesperson for Weight Watchers International, a position she held for ten years. She has supported many causes such as the American Heart Association and the National Heart and Lung Association. Today Sarah is the founder of several children?s charities, a bestselling author of 27 books, and a reporter and co-producer of documentaries. She devotes much of her time to promoting wellness and children's causes.  Sarah is the mother of two daughters, Princess Beatrice Elizabeth Mary of York and Princess Eugenie Victoria Helena of York.
